52 Designs for Wearing Your Insides Outside

Every week in 2019 I made an illustration that answered the question: if a person could fabricate, or even grow on their own body, and outfit or article of clothing that clearly expressed how they were feeling at that moment, what would it look like? In 2020 I added hand written text to augment the visuals.

While designing these pieces my rules were thus: nothing could take more than an hour to create. I was not to pre-plan what would appear on my page; this needed to be entirely spontaneous. I couldn’t edit or revisit anything, after an hour, it was done. These guidelines gave me the freedom to respond to my mood as I was working. They also made for some wicked art experiments, as I often found myself working with odd bits of paper and unusual tools when a spare hour found me far from my studio.
