At the AGGV I’ll be teaching Early Art Explorers for children aged 2-3 (with one caregiver). This is such a fun class! We learn about shape, colour and more as we play with all kinds of art media. Regular trips to the gallery and storytelling enhance the magic.

Also at the AGGV, I’m heading up ArtFULL. This series of classes nurtures the artistic spirit of adults who wish to explore, create and just have fun with the same enthusiasm as our younger artists. No experience is necessary, plus all art materials are supplied! Each ArtFULL session is $50.00 for members and $60.00 for non-members (4 classes).
ArtFULL – Thursdays, April 12th-May 3rd/6:30-8:00 PM. All about painting! I’ll facilitate a variety of projects including mixed media painting, resist printing with paint and painting with ink.
ArtFULL – Thursdays, May 31st-June 21st/6:30-8:00 PM. Curious about fibre arts? These classes, inspired by a quilt making technique called “trapunto”, will allow you to experience a modern melding of painting and hand sewing.
At the AGGV, spring break means spring art camps! The Creatives is a fun filled mixed media camp for children aged 6-11 which encourages artistic inquiry and inspires curiosity. We’ll investigate all kinds of art materials and techniques, and enjoy gallery exhibits too.

Art Adventures – It’s all about process in this engaging art-making class for children aged 2-4 and their caregiver. Young ones will be guided in their exploration of materials, textures and shapes. Expect painting, collage, sculpture and other exciting projects! Infant siblings in strollers are welcome, and drop-ins are encouraged ($13.00) if space allows.

Home Learners’ Art, for home schooled children aged 6-12, invites creativity and imaginative thinking in a welcoming, all inclusive environment. We’ll delve into all kinds of art making and art appreciation while growing skills in painting, drawing, mixed media and much more. To access the supply list, Google saanich.ca/artscentre. Illustration-From Story to Image – Have a story you dream of illustrating? In these supportive, encouraging adult classes, learn how to make eloquent, expressive visuals to accompany text.

Pro-D Art Book Workshop – For kids aged 6-9 years. We’ll play with a range of printmaking, sculpting and painting techniques and make a wildly creative art book!

Art goes vertical with Fantastic Structures, a Pro-D workshop for children aged 7-10. Which junior architect can build the tallest paper structure? Find out at two branches of The Greater Victoria Public Library.

Over the course of 2018 I’m completing a book project (something I’m writing and illustrating), making art for of events and publications, and for something completely new I’ll be taking on the role of Studio Coordinator for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria until mid-June. No moss on me, I’d say!
